Captured By Faith ~ The Journey to America

 For many years, Dr. Misambo Pierre Asabi and his family had lived through uncertainty.

From the dangers of rebellion in Congo, to displacement and hardship in Kenya, their lives had been shaped by moments when the future seemed unclear and the path forward uncertain.

Yet through each chapter of that journey, one constant remained—the quiet faith that God was guiding their steps.

Eventually, that path led to a new and unexpected destination.

In June of 2010, Misambo arrived in the United States, first to New York, and then settled in Southern California. They were moments filled with both gratitude and yet, a future that was once again undetermined. Though he had served for years as a physician and surgeon in Africa, the transition into a new country and medical system brought its own challenges.

The road ahead would require patience, humility, and perseverance.

Four years later, in April of 2014, a long-awaited moment finally arrived. After years of separation and sacrifice, Lydia and their children joined him in America, reuniting the family once again.

It was more than a reunion. It was the continuation of a story that had traveled across continents—through war, displacement, faith, and perseverance.

Looking back, the journey reveals something remarkable. At every turn, through danger and uncertainty, God had been guiding the story forward.

And that story is now told in the pages of Captured by Faith.
